About Kzoo Vikings
The inspiration for starting Kzoo Vikings came from seeing a gap in youth sports where kids weren’t just developing athletically, but also as people. I wanted to create a program that combined strong coaching, community mentorship, and life skills, giving kids the tools to succeed long after the game ends.
The name “Vikings” was chosen because Vikings were fearless explorers, strong leaders, and masters of teamwork. That spirit represents exactly what we want for our kids – to be bold, resilient, and unafraid to chase big goals. Adding “Kzoo” keeps it rooted in Kalamazoo, reminding everyone that this is our community, our pride, and our legacy.
From day one, the vision was to build more than a team – a family. Every player, cheerleader, and parent is part of something bigger than themselves, and that’s the true heart of the Kzoo Vikings. 🖤💛

Our Biggest Goal
If Kzoo Vikings could achieve one major goal this year, it would be to increase access so every child who wants to play can participate—regardless of their family’s financial situation. We know that the cost of youth sports can be a barrier, and too often, talented, motivated kids get left on the sidelines. By securing more sponsorships, fundraising support, and community partnerships, we could cover equipment, uniforms, and fees for every kid who needs it.
